Investing 1on1s

If you’ve been thinking about investing for your future, but need someone to walk you through the basics of stocks, bonds, index funds, investment accounts, and investment maintenance, I’m here to help.

I’m now taking appointments for 1-on-1 sessions where we’ll run through concepts you need to know to start your investing journey, such as:

  • Emergency Funds
  • Financial Goals
  • Risk Tolerance
  • Asset Allocation
  • Brokerage Accounts
  • Index Funds vs. Active Investing
  • Rebalancing

The dynamic is a simple one. We’ll take two hours over Zoom—eventually in person—to have a casual conversation over a shared screen, build your investment knowledge, and clear up any questions along the way. By the end, you’ll have all the tools in hand to grow the money you save, build up your nest egg, and slowly increase your quality of life.

Who is this overview for? My ideal student is a Canadian 35 and under with little to no investment knowledge who is eager to learn how to make investments and manage them on their own. You should also want to invest to meet medium and long-term goals like a car, a house, a degree, retirement, starting a business, or starting a family.

These 1-on-1s are not about day trading stocks to make short-term profits, they’re about the kind of slow and steady investing that will make a difference to your life five, ten, twenty, or thirty years down the line.

These 1-on-1s are also not an offering of financial advice. They are for educational purposes only. I’ll teach you what you need to know to prudently invest in stocks and bonds, but you are solely responsible for the investments you make. And you are more than capable of making them.

What qualifies me to offer this guided course? Long story short, I’m an artist who taught himself to invest to make the grind a little less taxing. I found that I had a passion for the material so I dove in. I’ve since completed course work through the Canadian Securities Institute to attain my license as a Mutual Fund Dealer Representative. These courses include the Canadian Securities Course, Investment Funds in Canada, and the ETF Supplement.

The investing world often seems confusing, obscure, and downright unwelcoming because there’s so much jargon to decipher before you find your bearings. I’d be happy to expedite the process for you and walk you through the fundamentals so you can make the most of your money.
